Hi, I'm Chelsea!
My path to photography grew from my love of working with individuals, couples, kids, families, friends, and everything in between. Not only do I love people, but I also love love. Love comes in so many forms - the love between a mother and child, between friends, between two partners, or one's expression of self love. My goal is to capture your love, joy, laughter, and even tears. I want my photos to evoke emotions when you look at them for years to come!
In addition to my passion to spark emotions through photography, I am also a HUGE goofball. I like to make people laugh and I think I am pretty funny (or so my family tells me) and easy to work with. I will basically be your third wheel/personal assistant during your event, special day, or session. I have no problems moving a piece of hair that's in the way (with permission first), moving you into a different position, and laying in the dirt to get that awesome shot. I will always walk you through our session prior to and discuss your vision with you. I want to make sure that you feel comfortable, yourself, prepared, and excited for our session!
One thing that makes photographers unique from each other comes from their post-processing. In post-processing, my goal is to create photo edits that are commonly referred to as "moody." One of the most important aspects of choosing the photographer that is right for you is to make sure that their final images (editing style) speak to you. Please check out my blog and recent work pages for examples of my final edited photos and to make sure that my style fits your needs. I strive to create images that are raw, candid and full of emotion. While I understand the need for some staged photos and group shots (and am happy to take these), I prefer to take your pictures in your natural element - basically pretend like I'm not there! I want to capture the smiles, laughs, tears, dance sessions, and even those bloopers that you will later cherish.
I also respect the importance of your day and am very thoughtful to make myself an invisible fly on the wall. My intention is to catch you and others in your natural environment without being disruptive or in the way
When I'm not snapping photos I can be found working my other job as a technology consultant or hanging with my family. We love to garden, kayak, hike, cook and explore. I have a deep love for animals and nature. I recently got into birding and wildlife photography and am excited to start a new page to share that work!
