Q: What can I expect from our session?
A: I strive to provide an unique experience for all of my clients based upon your wishes for our session together. I aim to capture raw, candid and in the moment pictures that tell your story. I am not afraid to experiment and try new things and I love working with people who like to think outside the normal "glam" shots. I also greatly appreciate clients that want me to be a part of the planning/timeline, this way we can make sure we get every one of your desired shots and then some. This also includes location selection, time of day and even outfits! I will make sure you feel confident and ready prior to our session. I will work with you during our session on things like posing, capturing your desired images and of course by making our time together fun!
Q: How long after my session does it take to receive my images?
A: For portraits, family sessions, senior photos and small events you can expect a digital online gallery within 1-2 weeks.
For larger events please allow up to 6 weeks for images to be delivered.
Q: Where should I get my images printed?
A: First, YAY for wanting to get your images printed. PLEASE PLEASE print your images! You are provided with digital images as part of your session package. It is highly recommended that you have your images printed via the online gallery service provided or a high-quality print company (I am happy to send recommended companies). You made the investment for high-resolution images, so please take care to uphold their quality by having them printed with the same high-quality. Having images printed at places with large quick print machines can result in images with blur, grain and color distortion.
Q: Help, I'm camera shy and worried this will translate in my photos.
A: It's totally natural and normal to get nervous, anxious and/or be camera shy. I will guide you through the entire process so you that you can show up knowing what to expect. I send out tips to my clients prior to our session so you feel prepared and will work with you the day of to make sure you feel relaxed and are having fun. I haven't had a client yet that I couldn't make laugh, don't worry we will have a blast!
Q: Who owns the copyright of the images?
A: Chelsea Cohen Photos owns the copyright of all images and retains the right to use the images, without compensation or notification to the client, to promote her business and any other vendors involved in the session. I may display them, post them on this site, Facebook, Instagram, on a blog, in a magazine, book, app or any other social media.
Q: What are the clients use of the images?
A: The client will receive a digital high resolution online gallery, non-watermarked, for personal use only.
Q: What is needed to retain your services and save a date?
A: A 50% deposit and signed contract.
Q: How far will you travel for a session?
A: I will travel anywhere within 30 miles of Topsfield as part of your session fee. I LOVE to travel, especially to be a part of your special event. Anything beyond the 30 miles would incur travel fees in addition to the session fee.
Q: What equipment do you use?
A: My camera body is a full frame Canon 6D Mark II. Depending on your session I either use a Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4, Canon 24-70mm, Canon 50mm f1.2 lens, or a Canon 85mm f/1.4 lens. Many times I use a combo of all four or can rent additional lens if appropriate. I mostly use natural lighting but I also use an external Canon speedlight flash if needed. I use multiple high speed flash cards for each session that are immediately backed up on my computer and to an external hard drive when I get home.
