This family was one of my FIRST ever families to work with professionally when I was just getting my business started. They have since gotten married and celebrated their first year Anniversary.
I was so excited when they reached out to work with me again. This location is actually where they got their wedding photos taken and it was absolutely stunning despite foliage season being over. I love that this location holds such special memories for them and that we were able to return to capture these family photos. I just love this family, the colors and tones in these images and the beautiful landscape!

I actually grew up in Vermont and visit often, as much of my family still lives there. I LOVE that I have been able to bring my passion of photography back home, because honestly nothing beats the landscapes and natural beauty of VT.
This session speaks to all things I love. A kind, caring and loving family, gorgeous views and that killer golden hour lighting. This was such a fun session, including blasting some Bruno Mars to get everyone loosened up, dancing and being silly. If you are in VT please don't hesitate to reach out for your family session! Marissa, Ben, Trent and Archer have been long time clients of mine and actually inspired my new "Grow with me" package!
I had the pleasure of capturing memories for Marissa & Ben during their first maternity session and was so excited when they called me again when the baby (Archer) was born. Unfortunately, due to COVID I wasn't able to do a newborn session but I was able to safely join them for his 3 month and 6 month milestones. I am so excited to continue to capture precious moments for this family as they grow. Have I mentioned how much I love sharing a families journey with them?! I truly believe it is so important to capture intimate family moments as often as possible because as we all know, time truly flies and we are forever changing from one moment to the next.
I got to photograph Marissa and her family for a maternity session early in the winter of this year (see older blogs for images from this session). I was so excited when they called me back to capture the addition of sweet baby Archer. This location is extra special because it was where this couple said their wedding vows almost two years ago! The property is in the family and it couldn't have been more beautiful. Welcome baby Archer and lots of love to this sweet family of four. Summers in Vermont hold a special place in my heart. I moved to VT when I was just 7 and lived there until I left for college, so I consider Vermont home. Although most of my work is focused in the North Shore area of MA, I will never turn down the opportunity for a session in my home state.
This family session was originally scheduled for the spring but due to COVID-19 and state restrictions we postponed the session until we felt it was safe for all parties. As sad as I was to miss all of my regularly scheduled spring sessions, the wait was well worth it! This sweet family was so much fun to photograph as they explored and played at the grandparents absolutely gorgeous property (complete with ponds, stunning gardens, rolling hills and mountain views in the background). We picked flowers, chased butterflies, found slugs, and played. I love capturing images of what might be a regular day for you as the images tell a story. The story of what your life is like at a quick moment in time. These moments pass so quickly and I truly believe it is so special to document them, in their absolute raw and candid moments. <3 This glowing first time momma to be and her husband wanted to document their pregnancy journey both at home and at their favorite beach.
I was so excited when I met them at their home (pre social distancing) and got to see their absolutely adorable nursery! I LOVE taking maternity photos at your home. It's so special to look back at the place you will raise your baby, a place of comfort and familiarity. We froze our behinds off at the beach but this brave momma stuck it out so I could capture these few gorgeous photos right before sunset. Admittedly this was my first extended family session (we all have our firsts at some point, right?). This session was the day after Thanksgiving, with no flexibility in date or time due to family flying out of town. We were nervous about the weather (would it rain, snow?), the temperature, the winds, and the sun due to the time of day. I reassured the family that despite the lack of control over the weather we would make it work and have a blast at the same time.
Well, we didn't get snow or rain, but we did get all the forces of the wind and direct, mid-day harsh sunlight with no real open shaded areas. I'm sharing this, because my job as a photographer is to advise you on the best times of day to have a session for that perfect golden hour lighting, to help chose a location with that frame worthy background, and to reschedule (under normal circumstances) when the weather calls for it. With all that being said, another part of my job is to make the absolute best out of a session with less then favorable conditions and to still capture memories for your family to cherish. We were freezing and the family was running back and forth in between photos to warm up their hands and snuggle in jackets. We were adjusting hair flying all over the place. I was moving this family all around trying to get out of that harsh cool winter sun. With all that I can tell you, we were laughing, cracking jokes, and having a blast. THIS is why I do what I do. I love my families, I love capturing all those in between "the scenes" moments and I love a good challenge. I look at these images and smile because they capture all the dynamics of this family, their love and the crazy fun experience we shared together. This absolutely gorgeous and sweet family reached out to me for both family photos for Holidays cards as well as photos of their newborn daughter to use as her birth announcement. I've mentioned this before, but I REALLY love in-home sessions. They are so intimate, natural, and fun. The older kids loved showing me their playroom and bedrooms, their favorite toys and even showing off their new baby sister. Two of my favorite photos I've ever taken were from this session. Mom nursing her baby with big brother by her side and all four kids on the bed. I think the kids had the most fun getting to jump on mom and dad's bed which shows with the look of pure joy on their faces. These photos are a small glimpse into the special and loving bond that I saw in this family after only being with them for one hour. Happy New Year and cheers to family and to love!
This beautiful family of four met me at the Lynn Fells Parkway for this ridiculously fun session! Seriously, this was such a FUN session. I love when my clients are able to take their kids to the park on a Saturday like they would any other Saturday and really just let me be a part of their family. I so much enjoyed watching them see who could get the longest rock skip and biggest splash. We looked for ducks and fish in the pond and admired the various types of birds that called this pond home . The girls showed me their dance moves, silly faces, told me about what they are learning in school, and lead the way on a walking adventure over to the big rocks. Also, if you have a dog PLEASE bring your dog to our session. Booda is a huge part of this family and I was so happy to have him included in their photos. Grace reached out to me for a fall family session and I think between a full week of rain, sick kiddos and scheduling conflicts we finally got together several weeks after our originally scheduled session. SO WORTH THE WAIT!! Grace & Heather and their two boys are just the sweetest family!! I had so much fun spending time with them and getting to play at the park with the boys. We totally lucked out with gorgeous weather, fall foliage and leaves galore. Young children aren't exactly jumping for joy over family photos (for all the parents reading this, no it's not just your kids, it's basically ALL kids). I LOVE working with families with young children because it gives me the opportunity to play, get on the ground and to get to know them better. I truly believe you can feel the special bond that families share in my photos when my clients are able to just have fun and play. One of my favorite photos from this session is Heather pushing her son in the swing, the look they share is just...!!! I hope these photos bring you as much joy and smiles and they brought me. |
