I cherish every single one of my sessions, I truly do. I have to say that being back in my home town in Vermont, during foliage season, and up in the mountains was my icing on the cake. This session holds a special place with me because of the absolute gorgeous (literally picture perfect) location that my clients picked out themselves! The property is in the family and they had attended a wedding there a few weeks prior and suggested the location to me. I saw it for the first time as I arrived for our session and couldn't have been more excited! Perfect location - check, perfect golden hour lighting - check...... The Fentons and I spent a few minutes walking around chatting, exploring the location and getting ready. I had my camera out (it's always out so I don't miss any moments) and looked up to see Miss Elaina standing above me on the rock with the sun glowing behind her. Best candid moments - check! This session literally checked off every magical moment for me and this family was an absolute dream to work with! I hope that they give you all the mountainess, fall, warm, fuzzy feelings that they bring me.

The Martins are a dear dear family to me. I met Alicja when our children (her eldest) were just months old. Our friendship has endured several moves, job changes, and the newest addition to her family, Lucas.
Family sessions hold an extra special spot for me as someone with my own that cherishes every photo of every moment. I am so honored to have been able to capture these raw and candid moments of this beautiful family and dear friends. I love ALL of my sessions no matter where they are but as I've said in past blogs there is something about an in home lifestyle session that really speaks to me. For me these photos capture real moments. Drinking coffee while breastfeeding, chatting, laughing, finger grabs, and even crying Lucas. This is what life looks like for families with young children and I hope these photos capture their joy for you as much as they do for me. This session was my first time photographing infant twins, so I was so excited when Terri & Karl reached out to me to capture Anna & Clara at 2 months old. We did an in home session which I highly recommend for newborns and infants as we can be in the comfort of your home.
In between nursing sessions, diaper changes, cries and even dinner for mom & dad these two settled in together for the BEST twin snuggles I have ever seen! As a newborn and infant photographer I will work with your family in between all those moments that can't be predicted, even the poop explosions, so that we can capture your babies at their most precious moments (and, well, I even throw in the raw moments, because those are precious too). I am still googling over these two, that twin sister bond is like nothing I've ever seen! I was SO excited when Lyndsay reached out to me for an opportunity to capture her and her fiance Mike's engagement photos! When we started our consultation we discussed many different options for locations that truly embodied their relationship and things they enjoy to do together. Lyndsay & Mike share many passions together including cooking at home, spending time with their dog, outdoor adventures and eating oysters at their favorite local restaurant, Turners Seafood. I LOVE being a part of the planning process with my couples and really enjoyed working with both Lyndsay and Mike to find a location perfect for them.
We got really creative and settled on two locations for their engagement session. The first location was at their favorite restaurant, Turners. This was such a fun experience to capture these lovebirds sharing their favorite meal and beer at one of their go to spots. We then walked around downtown Melrose where I was able to capture them strolling around. After spending some time at this location, I suggested we drive around to find another one where we could take advantage of the beautiful pre-golden hour lighting. We found a beautiful park & pond where we stumbled across these amazing old stone stairs. These ended up being my favorite photos from the session. Thank you Lyndsay & Mike for spending your evening with me trekking around to find that perfect location. I am so excited for you both and wish you the best with wedding planning! Casey & Melissa recently moved in together and two became three when Bo joined their family. They asked me last minute if Bo could be a part of their couples session and I couldn't have been more thrilled to say YES! Who can resist a puppy joining the cutest couple in the most beautiful park?!
It was probably the hottest day of the year and we made light of it by laughing about "sweaty pics" (notice there are no sweaty pics), city living, and a pretend magical whale in the park. I love making my couples laugh and hearing their stories about how they met, their favorite show, and whatever else they want to share. Both Casey & Melissa have such gorgeous smiles and I couldn't get enough close ups of them! This shoot was an absolute dream! Kaitlin & Maggie were celebrating 2.5 years together, a recent graduation and embarking on their post-commencement careers.
I absolutely love shooting couples in their home and this was no exception. There is something about the comfort of couples being in their own home that brings ease. Kaitlin & Maggie were immediately warm and welcoming when I arrived. Home sessions typically start with getting to know each other (we will also do this prior to your shoot via a phone call or email). We talked about some locations throughout the home where they like to spend their time as well as their favorite things to do together. It was so cute to listen to them talk about their favorite shows and songs, how they always sit together in this one chair, and to hear about the pillowcases that Maggie made for Kaitlin while she was studying abroad. These photos speak for themselves to the extent that their love for each other radiated in the air. <3 Laurel & Heather asked me to do a combined engagement and family session shoot for them with their ten year old twin girls. With the weather in Boston finally feeling somewhat summerish we agreed it would be a lot of fun to head over to Breakheart Reservation in Saugus to get outside and engrossed in nature. We had such a blast exploring the visitor center and as the weather quickly cooled the girls snugged up with a blanket I brought along which ended up being my favorite photos of them. We walked down the trail to the lake which provided ample opportunity for candid walking photos and ended our session on the beach with some great family photos. The great thing about outdoor family sessions is the relaxing environment and endless background opportunities. What is more gorgeous than trees, flowers and a body of water as the perfect background setting to your photos? The kids gathered rocks, admired flowers, and loved the life guard bench at the swimming beach. Thank you all so much for letting me hang with your beautiful family and getting to know you all and congratulations on your upcoming wedding in November! Newburyport is one of my favorite areas in Massachusetts. I was lucky enough to get to spend the day exploring on Friday and took some time to myself in what has otherwise been a crazy busy time. When I am feeling a little stressed out and overwhelmed I turn to nature and animals. I got the best of both worlds on this day trip and couldn't have asked for more gorgeous weather. On my way back from walking around Newburyport and bird watching, I stopped at Colby Farm and met some cutie cows. They provided me with all the animal therapy I could ask for and were the most adorable models. I hope these photos bring you at least some of the joy that the experience brought me.
Cheers! Welcome to my page! Thank you for taking the time to check out my work and visit my page. While currently under construction, I hope that you visit my "Recent Work" page and look for upcoming blogs on my latest sessions.
I look forward to connecting! -Chelsea As crazy as it sounds, I didn't officially meet Jen or Troy until the day of their wedding. We spent time getting to know each other via Facebook and Instagram and several emails until I finally had the pleasure of meeting them early on their wedding day. The weather called for rain all day so when I showed up extra early to scope out the area for some indoor shots and to formulate a plan for the inclement weather, I was so pumped to see Jen and all her friends and family outside getting everything ready. We nervously laughed throughout the morning taking bets on when the rain would start. Jen had the most amazing, laid-back, dream bride attitude and didn't let the forecast come in the way of her day! As we were all inside taking details and getting ready photos I would occasionally slip outside to check on the status of the clouds. Not only did the rain never make its appearance but the sun actually popped out of the clouds during their Star Wars themed reception making for the perfect day. This was such a fun and unique wedding because of the couple's infinite love for Star Wars. Thank you both for including me in your special day and as you taught me: "'Til death star do you part!"
